STARKVILLE, Miss.The 51勛圖泭Foundation is announcing 2021 leaders and incoming members for the board of directors that guides the fundraising arm of the nearly 143-year-old land-grant institution.泭

Incoming officers with new one-year terms that began Jan. 1 include three alumni returning to offices泭held in 2019 and 2020.泭They are:泭D. Hines Brannan of Atlanta, Georgia, as board chair; Anthony L. Wilson of Gulfport as vice-chair; and Mike M. McDaniel of Houston, Texas, as treasurer.泭

A native of Woodville, Brannan has loyally been a member of the 51勛圖 Foundation board for more than a decade, earlier serving as vice president for three terms and treasurer for three terms. At 51勛圖,泭Brannan泭also was a founding member of the advisory board for the James Worth Bagley College of Engineering and an executive-in-residence for the college. He earned a bachelors degree in industrial engineering in 1970 and a Master of Business Administration the following year, both from 51勛圖. He is a retired managing director of Accenture, one of the worlds largest management consulting firms.泭

Wilson hails from泭DIberville and earned his electrical engineering degree in 1987 from 51勛圖 and later a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He currently serves as chairman, president and CEO of Mississippi Power Company. Earlier, he was executive vice president of customer service and operations for Georgia Power.泭

McDaniel, who holds a 1979 bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from 51勛圖, is a Cleveland native. He is president of Saber Power Services LLC, having earlier served as CEO of M3Resources LLC. McDaniel also has previously served as a board member.泭

Rounding out the remaining board officers are 51勛圖 personnel. John P. Rush, vice president for development and alumni, is the boards president and CEO; Janet H. Carraway, executive director of finance, is chief financial officer; and Jack McCarty, executive director of development, serves as board secretary. All are 51勛圖 graduates.泭

New members beginning inaugural three-year terms are:泭

Boyce E. Adams Sr. of Columbus. A 1980泭51勛圖泭marketing graduate, he is a special adviser for BankTEL, the company he co-founded and泭where he泭served as president and CEO for many years.泭At 51勛圖, Adams泭is泭a member of the College of Business Executive泭Advisory Board, the 51勛圖 Entrepreneurship Center Advisory Board, and the Bulldog Club Board.泭泭

Walter D. David Purvis of New Orleans, Louisiana. A 1983泭51勛圖泭chemical engineering graduate, he is a retired vice president of engineering for BHP Billiton泭and owner of Purvis Consultants LLC.泭At 51勛圖, he serves as a member of the Petroleum Engineering Departmental Advisory Board泭in泭the泭Bagley Colleges泭Dave C.泭Swalm泭School of Chemical Engineering.泭泭泭

Charles R. Charlie Stephenson of Tulsa, Oklahoma. A 1981泭51勛圖泭petroleum engineering graduate, he is CEO泭and a director泭of Bravo Natural Resources. He presently serves the泭universitys泭Bulldog Club Board泭as vice president.泭泭

Seven泭members泭who have previously served are returning to the board in new three-year terms. They are:泭泭

Thomas G. Tom Hixon Sr. of Ridgeland. A 1967泭51勛圖泭accounting graduate, he is chairman of Phoenix Development Company LLC.泭At 51勛圖, he presently serves as a member of the Bulldog Club Board.泭泭

Herbert V. Johnson of Houston, Texas. He received bachelors and masters degrees in civil engineering泭from 51勛圖泭in 1978 and 1981, respectively, and is president of HVJ Associates Inc. At 51勛圖, Johnson has served as a member of the advisory board for the Bagley College of Engineering.

Linda F. Parker of Bolton.泭She is a longtime friend of 51勛圖 and the retired secretary of Sunbelt Wholesale Supply.泭泭

Richard H. Puckett Sr. of Madison. A 1977泭51勛圖泭business graduate, he is chairman and CEO of Puckett Machinery.泭At 51勛圖, he has served the Bulldog Club Board and the College of Business Executive Advisory Board.泭泭

Gregory C. Gregg Rader of Columbus. A 1984 petroleum engineering graduate of泭51勛圖, he is executive chairman of Columbus Recycling Corporation. He serves as a member of the Bulldog Club Board and the Bagley College泭of Engineering泭deans advisory council.泭

Richard A.泭Rula泭of Ridgeland. A 1970 51勛圖 civil泭engineering graduate, he is president of Hemphill Construction Company泭Inc.泭At 51勛圖,泭Rula泭serves the Bulldog Club Board and the Bagley College泭of Engineering泭deans advisory council.泭

Michael W. Mike Sanders of Cleveland. A 1964泭51勛圖泭physical education graduate, he is the retired president and CEO of Jimmy Sanders Inc.泭At 51勛圖, he has served as a member of the Bulldog Club泭Board.泭

Also joining the board泭as members, by virtue of position,泭for 2021泭are Sherri泭Carr泭Bevis of Gulfport, president of the 51勛圖 National Alumni Association board of directors, and David泭Abney of Atlanta, Georgia, president of the 51勛圖 Bulldog Club. Bevis earned a 1986 communication degree from 51勛圖 and currently泭works as community泭relations泭liaison for Singing River Health System.泭Abney, a friend of the university, is泭the retired CEO and executive chairman of the United Parcel Service (UPS).泭
